The Study On Comparison About Western Ecological Marxism And Ecological Views Of Traditional Marxism

The current global environmental problems are getting worse, which is causing serious threats to sustainable development. This has awakened mankind to act towards the protection of the Mother Nature, thus stimulating the expansion of green movement. During this kind of time, there is the necessity of a guiding theory to lead those minds. Thus giving birth to Ecological Marxism that became inevitable with no doubt.Ecological Marxism guides people to re-examine the relationship between man and nature, promote harmonious relationship between man and nature as well as its concern for the future development of human society, making it more effective through its clever integration of ecological and philosophical fields and trying to find the root causes of ecological problems with a view to eliminate the ecological crisis. During its development, Ecological Marxism's understanding about the root causes of the ecological crisis shifted from the effects of science and technology to the prevalent leap of capitalist private ownership. So the people living in peace and prosperity under capitalism have to reconsider the capitalist system under this case. However the ecological Marxism's developing process is not problem-free, there arises conflict as regarding its origin, with scholars having a wide divided opinions on the relation between traditional Marxism and Ecological Marxism. This article has carried on the reorganization and analysis of the ecological views and ideas of traditional Marxism. After thorough comparison of these two, it was concluded that the traditional Marxism is the base of Ecological Marxism. However, during this kind of developing process, the Frankfurt school of thought had lasting achievements to the ecological Marxism's seed. Frankfurt's technical rationality critique caused the ecological Marxism to move toward the capitalist society system's critique. Although traditional Marxism and Ecological Marxism are related, their theories and solutions about crisis have seen some differences. This article comprehensively discussed and analyzed these dissimilarities and concluded that the cause was difference during the era together with the theories of alienation.In recent years the Ecological Marxism has matured considerably but it still have some inadequacy, which is the reason for its lack of ideal results. This article also has an immense comparison which analyzes the methodological insufficiencies to help us create a new theory with the national conditions of China's current form for the construction of ecological civilization. A new theory on one hand will open the horizon to better understand nature and the world as a whole, which can be useful to promote the cause of socialism with Chinese features of sustainable development.
