| Environmental problems are an important issue of concern in today’s world. China is no exception. Especially in the Report to the18th National Congress of Communist Party of China, ecological civilization construction has been listed separately as one of the most important dimensions of China development, which has become a hot topic. The Party promoting the construction of ecological civilization indicates that the Party and the government as well as the whole society attach great importance to environmental problems. Meanwhile it also requires us to have theoretically profound understanding of the importance, necessity, requirements, rules and general methodology of the ecological civilization construction. The Marxist concepts of ecology and eco-Marxist theory are the ecological civilization theory that we must be concerned with.Marx and Engels are pioneers in the study of ecological problems early in the1840s when they conducted in-depth research on human survival and development, and formed the Marxist ecological view. Once the Marxist ecological views were put forward, they became an important ecological theory and theoretical sources for both the East and West. For example, in China, it has been developed into a Chinese Marxist ideological construction of ecological civilization; in the West, the eco-Marxism is the most important concern of contemporary Western Ecological Theory. Ecological Marxism is a product of the development of contemporary green movement, which combines the Marxism and ecology, revealing the capitalist system and its mode of production are the root of the ecological crisis. Meanwhile ecological Marxism is also committed to finding new perspectives for the development of ecological doctrine, ensuring both a solution to the ecological crisis, but also a new way to socialism. There are connections and similarities as well as differences between Ecological Marxism and Marxist ecological concepts. This paper traces the background and development process of the Marxist concepts of ecology and ecological Marxism to clarify the social background, social and historical conditions for the formation and development of the theory, and then compares the Marxist concepts of ecology and ecological Marxist theory. Through comparison of the main points of the theory and the theory of comparative research methods, it finds out the differences and similarities between eco-Marxism and Marxist ecological views, and analyzes the reasons. Through a comparative study, the contribution of ecological Marxism is affirmed, while the limitations of ecological Marxism are also recognized. The conclusion can help us to firmly adhere to the Marxist theory of ecological civilization, correctly handle the relationship between human and nature, stick to the sustainable development strategy, promote ecological civilization construction and build a beautiful country. |
