The Study And Application Of Costumes Design Based On Fractal Theory

Fractal theory is a new discipline develops nearly twenty or thirty years, which manly describes the non-smooth and irregular geometry in the nature. Fractal has become the most popular research in Computer Graphics area. At present, it has been widely used in mathematics, physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, medicine, geology, geography, seismology, and astronomy and computer sciences and so on. Fractal Theory has a wide application in image data compression, simulation of natural scenery, art designs, fractal growth and chaotic dynamical systems. Therefore, fractal theory has important theoretical significance; at the same time it has a wide range of practical applications.In this paper, we research the basic knowledge of fractal theory, the algorithm of fractal graphics design and the application of design research in the clothing pattern generation on the basis of previous research. At first analysis the feasibility of the fractal application in clothing pattern design from theory and Using Visual C++6.0 to generate some classical fractal images, that is a good user interface development tools, and powerful graphical programming technology. Use the computer to generated graphics such as L-system(Koch curve, Peano curve), IFS iterated function systems, and Julia sets in the complex plane IFS algorithm and the classical escape time algorithm. And then analysis the fractal graphics in order to find out the regularity of these graphics, the relationship between escape time algorithm for Julia sets and their parameters is discussed crucially. Finally using Photoshop, CorelDraw to stroking or rendering the fractal graphics in order to receive the design patterns, and then put these design patterns in the design of apparel pattern and clothing accessories. Besides, in this paper, the idea that using the thought of fractal graphic in clothing designs.Patterns play an important role in decorates clothing; the clothing pattern design is an integral part of the clothing design. In this paper the fractal theory is applied in clothing pattern design, which put a new logo design ideas in clothing pattern design, at the same time the fractal graphics not only enrich the dress pattern types, but also develop a new class of clothing pattern type.
