The Valuation On The Ecosystem Services And Functions Of Dongting Lake Wetland

Wetland ecosystem is one of the most productive ecosystem on the earth, and have giant environmental functions and ecological benefits in many aspects, such as adjusting climate, controlling water, avoiding drought, purifying water quality, protecting biodiversity. The research on the wetland ecosystem services and functions has become the frontier science in recent years, While the valuation on it is the hot spot and a difficult point.Dongting Lake wetland, one of the most importand wetland ecosystem in the middle reaches of Yangtze River, is the global important wetland and the migratory bird protection zone, and plays an important role in regulating climate, protecting the biodiversity, etc. However, for a long time the people only pay attention to its economical value, neglecting its ecological and social value, which makes the ecological environment deteriorate gradully. Therefore, the valuation of ecosystem services and fuctions in Dongting Lake wetland is a matter deserved to focus on.This paper, analyzed and valued the services and functions of Dongting Lake wetland by using a series of environmental economic methods and mathematics ones, concluded that its annual value is￥326.97x108. The main research are as follows:(1)constructing a set of valuation index system towards Dongting Lake wetland ecosystem, concluding 3 levels and 10 indexes;(2)analyzing its effectiveness from the social, ecological and economic aspects on the basis of its expression of services and functions;(3)concluding its annual value is￥326.97×108:the ecological value is￥239.85×108, the economic annual value is￥47.15×108, and the social one is￥39.97x108.The research shows there has abundant resources in Dongting Lake ecosystem, and its value is great. However its quality is deteriorating, so it's of great urgency to strengthen its protection and management. The valuation is also one element in the effort to improve management and protecion of environmental resources and can play an important role in the ecosystem construciton in the Dongting Lake area.
