Hydraulic support columns are key components of hydraulic support which is one of three main mechanized mining equipments. The research on hydraulic support columns'working performance affected by its structure and working environment has become a hot issue in the worldwide. Meanwhile, considering its long development cycle and huge calculation amount, the application of CAD/CAM has significant meaning during the design of double telescoping hydraulic support. The research emphasis of hydraulic support used to focus on the analysis of structural strength and its stability, ignoring the influence of emulsion. The real load capacity of support columns is hard to be reflected because of the negligence. Therefore, the emphasis of our research focuses on the parametric modeling and fluid-solid coupling analysis of hydraulic support columns, which more approaches its actual working condition. This topic has two main research works, parametric modeling based on Pro/E and the fluid-solid coupling analysis of column, which including the statics analysis and modal analysis.During the process of parametric modeling based on Pro/E, we conducted several secondary developments at first, including the written of parametric modeling menu and MFC dialogue using C++ and Pro/toolkit based on Pro/E, And thus created hydraulic support column 3d parametric model, several different parametric models of the same component were listed to make a comparison, which made the results more visualized and prepared for fluid-solid coupling analysis of support column. In the paper, the static analysis and modal analysis of fluid-solid coupling were conducted. In the static analysis, considering the specific condition of fluid-solid coupling in hydraulic support column (the fluid is surrounded by solid and it is hydrostatic), we chose proper method to proceed fluid-solid coupling analysis which contained model inducted, units selected and divided, constrains loaded and data analyzed. The paper took inside oil cylinder of hydraulic support column as example to introduce the whole process in detail and its special requirements. Meanwhile, in order to highlight the influence of fluid-solid coupling effect, the static analysis of inside oil cylinder without the effect was also conducted both in the condition of hydraulic pressure considered and unconsidered. Though the comparison, it could be indicated that maximums of displacements and stresses has changed due to the fluid-solid coupling effect. So we concluded that the fluid-solid effect more approaches its actual working condition. In the modal analysis, using asymmetrical extraction method to analyze natural frequency and vibratory type of the structure, the natural frequency of inside oil cylinder under the effect of fluid-solid coupling was figured out. In the actual working, the resonance could be avoided when the working frequency is much less than its natural frequency. Furthermore, because the responses of structure to various dynamic loads depends on its vibration characteristics, the modal analysis could be used as the base of dynamic analysis.
