With the rapid development of our country's iron and steel industry, Iron Ore sintering, as the important link of the iron and steel production, every technical and economic indicator directly affects the benefit of the whole iron and steel industry. Reasonable distribution of the thermal state in the sintering process is an important indicator. Researches on the simulation model of sintering bed temperature provide guidance for increasing sintering mineral products and quality indicators and decreasing sintering energy consumption.By investigating both the differences of physical chemical changes in sintering process and the temperature section where each physical chemical change is, the sintering beds could be split into 7 belts:original bed of material belt, humid belt, preheat dry belt, interaction belt, fusion belt, solidification belt and sintering ore belt, and the temperature variation situation of each belt has been analyzed as well. Furthermore, the sintering process has been divided into 7 stages and the energy balance equations have been set up respectively. Using implicit difference method, the simulation model of material bed temperature based on heat transfer, mass transfer theory has been established. The model has been tested by sintering test-pot data, and the fitness of the calculated and experimental results is up to 90%.Based on the sintering temperature fields, a multiple linear regression prediction model has been established to predict sinter quality, then, to establish expert system to optimize the sinter quality. The system uses artificial way to get access to knowledge; production rules That knowledge; knowledge base structure for multi-database structure. Finally, the use of forward reasoning based on the fact-driven method of expert system reasoning mechanism.The temperature field simulation system of sintering material bed and the optimization system of sinter quality are developed using the technology of combining mixed programming techniques of multithreading, Matcom and Visual C++. The software of the established system is direct and visual. This systematic software provided effective directions for sintering production in aspects of transparency of thermal state, controlling the BTP and guiding fuel distribution. And this developed software is anticipated to have a wide application prospect in sintering production.
