In this paper, the application properties of silicone materials for the protection of cultural relics in stone are studied. In experiments we select siloxane of different alkyl chain length, MTES, JHN303, JHN308, JHN3112, reation with TEOS, used film performance, adhesion, hardness as evaluation index, the property of material itself is studied, process conditions is optimized, their application performance on the simulation test blocks were researched, this topic selected Dazu Rock Carvings for the research object, through the experimental study, results obtained as follows:(1)The ratio teween MTES and TEOS is 3:1 or 4:1, the reaction temperature is 70oC, the dosage of ethanol is 15% of mixture quality, the dosage of hydrochloric acid is 0.2% of amount of substance of monomer, the reaction time is 3h.(2)Use JHN303, JHN308, JHN3112modified TEOS, after testing, JHN308 modified TEOS get products with the excellent performance, the process condition is : the ratio is1:3, the reaction temperature is 70oC, the dosage of ethanol is 15% of mixture quality, the dosage of hydrochloric acid is 0.2% of amount of substance of monomer, the reaction time is 6h.(3)In this paper, the structure of the product influence the performance of monomer was studied,reduce the content of TEOS and increase the content of MTES, the chemical resistance, hydrophobic, permeability of silicon materials become better, but the breathability become worse, using JHN303, JHN308, JHN3112 and TEOS product silicone materials,with the length of alkyl chain increased, the chemical resistance, hydrophobic, breathability of silicon materials become worse,but the permeability become better, the protection performance become worse totality, this shows with the length increased of alkyl chain, the steric effect of reaction become larger, polymerization degree decline, so as to the chemical bond between siloxane and TEOS become less, resist chemical, hydrophobicity, breathability become worse, but permeability become better, the protection performance degradation, influenced application properties of material, this shows the length of alkyl chain has a major effect on the application performance of the product.
