Ecocity development has been regarded as one of the best approaches to deal with the numerous environmental, economic, and social problems associated with the unprecendented urbanization in China. Yet, the overall evaluation of the ecological integraty of a city is still a pretry much complex theoretical and practical subject. Using the ecological footprint model, land carrying capcity evaluation model, and grey system model and statistical method, we conducted an integrated assessment and future predication from the perspective of eco-city development for Tangshang, one of the most representative industrialized cities in China. Our assessment concluded that there is a disharmony between the urban development and the environment as indicated by the largest land consumption for the ecological footprint from fossil energy. This could be attributed to some industrial sectors such as mining, gas exploitation, and transportation.Because the ecological footprint is based on the hypothesis that every kind of landuse has one functions, the result may be somewhat larger than the real. So that in this paper the overlap between the energy land and the forest and gress ones. And the result might be more reasonable. Besides, ecological footprint canmot predict the future situation,so the gray model and landuse mulic-objects optinizationmethod were put into use.The result indicated that both the ecological footprint and the land carrying capacity would be large than now.
