Since the hourglass worm invention, it has been widely used in heavy mechanical. But, this worm was very easy to appear tooth thickness in machining process. It will be leaded to worm and worm gears not correctly engagement and deformation of worm tooth after running and caused unstable transmission and reduce the carrying capacity. In order to improve the hourglass worm machining accuracy and machining range, this article designed a special machine of hourglass worm NC processing by generating cutting principle. It has been got the processing precision influence for machine heat by the dynamic characteristics and the thermal analysis of the machine. It can be provided important theory foundation for reduce thermal deformation of machine tools in the future and enhance processing accuracy.On the meshing process analysis of hourglass worm basis, this article derived contact line equation and the tooth surface equation of planar double-envelope worm by the differential geometry principle and the data matrix theory. Researched the forming principle of Planar double-envelope worm, this article analyzed the machine's basic movement of hourglass worm NC processing special machine based on generating cutting principle, and determined machine transmission scheme, and designed structural of machine tool main derive and feed drive, and calculated the key components selection.For the finite element analysis technology, this article analyzes the dynamic characteristics of machine. Used 3D software to establish 3D solid model of machine, get the machine's natural frequency and the workpiece response under the action of the exciting force in the cyclical by modal analysis.For the heat transfer theory, analyze the main heat source of machine and calculate the heat of main heat source. Thermal characteristics analysi of the spindle box, feeding system and the machine by the ANSYS software get distribution regularities of thermal deformation. through thermal-structural coupled analysis get deformation regularities of machine tool and influence regularities of machine accuracy, it creates conditions for improve machine tool accuracy.
