The quality of the float glass to be stable, the float glass furnace required to maintain a continuous and stable first, but the glass furnace in the width direction on both sides of its external environment is different, it will cause the furnace temperature fluctuations on both sides. And due to the furnace structure, temperature fluctuations will directly affect the bottom of the working chamber of the furnace and cause the turbulent, thus affecting the quality of liquid glass, there is thermal inhomogeneous.In this paper, the molten glass in daily melts capacity of 500 tons of float glass furnace as the object of study, using FLOTRAN module in ANSYS software to simulate it. Firstly establish the normal model, extracting the bottom temperature at the working chamber, and then modify the model, comparing the simulation results with the prototype model, confirmed its viability, then simulate the thermal in inhomogeneous in the bottom of the working chamber based on the amendments model, in order to analyze the flowing it will bring and the uniformity of the glass compare with the normal condition when the glass leaving the furnace, and then collected the image of the side stripe to contrast.The results of the simulation of the float glass furnace show that, the amendments model can express the glass flow trend at the working chamber in normal condition. Difference in temperature at the bottom of the working chamber will effect the distribution of the main flow, the back flow of the bottom side of the glass at high temperature fluid rise to the top of the forward flow, and ultimately out of furnace, and this will lead to the third fluid circulation in the high temperature of a glass side will be an additional rise. In addition, effected by the temperature, high-temperature side of the bottom of the melt flow rate of return increases, the glass will attract the surrounding liquid as flow compensation , which will be included in the width direction of the furnace bottom of the glass medium, the temperature of the bottom of the lower side of the hot liquid glass will flow to one side, and affected by the inhomogeneous heat, the temperature along both side of the glass liquid molten glass depth direction of the trend of upward mobility, but also the direction along the width of glass furnace heat from the lateral side of the flow of low-temperature trends. The thermal inhomogeneous still lead to undulate of turbulence and when the difference of temperature is more than 42℃(measurement value 39℃), the homogeneous of glass will get worth. This result agree with the production logs of the company and the phenomenon of the glass side stripes, besides, the improper flow brought by the transverse temperature difference will driving the second circulation flow rate increases, thereby increasing the energy consumption of furnaces.
