There are two mixing process in the float glass manufacturing process. They are the batch mixing process and the molten glass mixing process in the tank furnace. In terms of overall glass homogenization, the batch mixing process is the most important process, then the molten glass mixing process shall be took into account. Factors which influencing the batch mixing quality are raw material granularity, feeding sequence, mixing time etc. In this study the feeding sequence is sandstone, dolomite, limestone, sodium carbonate, feldspar, Glauber’s salt carbon powder mixture and cullet.Fine-grain control refers to the control of all kinds of raw material particle size and particle size distribution in glass production. It directly affects the mixing uniformity of the batch, melting rate and the quality of the molten glass. And it is very important to the glass melting, clarifying and homogenizing and forming processes.A 260 t/d glass product line which produces liquid crystal display(LCD) substrate and electronic instrument panel title is taken as the background of this study. Production line process and the role of the related equipment were analyzed. This study mainly studied the influence of silica sand and cullet in glass production. At the same time, the glass transverse stripe analysis technology was used. The glass transverse stripes indicate that the glass quality is affected significantly with the dosage of cullet.
