Liquefied petroleum gas storage tank has the characteristics of inflammable and explosive. When the gas leak out, which will lead to fire and explosion accident, which result in huge economic losses, casualties, even catastrophic consequences. However, local scope of fire or over temperature due to the external environment factors, equipment factors, human factors and other absolute rules out reason factors is inevitable. Considering the safety production and economic benefits, the equipments subjected to fire damage should be evaluated according to fitness-for-service (FFS) procedures to determine whether the equipment is suitable for service or not. The temperature extremes to which the equipment was subjected is the key factor to judge whether the structural damage or material degradation happened. In general, the temperature is derived by the fire combustion characteristics on the field devices. However, burn marks are easy to be damaged due to the complexity scene of the fire. The fire temperature can not be obtained frequently. Fire temperature field simulation of LPG tank farm based on computer numerical simulation method is necessary.In this paper, theoretical analysis and simulation research were carried out to analysis main characteristics of LPG tank farm pool fire. Tank farm of liquefied petroleum gas fire model was established by PyroSim. the fire temperature field distribution of LPG tank farm was analysised by numerical simulation for dividing the heat exposure area and correcting fire separation. All investigations can be conclude as follows:(1) The applicability of various fire computer numerical simulation software were analyzed. The fluid dynamics model of FDS and the LES theory were introduced, the application of Mixture Fraction Combustion Model in FDS was expounded.(2) The design of LPG tank farm. Normal pressure spherical storage tanks were adopted.8 liquefied petroleum gas spherical tanks with a volume of 400 m3 were set according to our current standards.(3) The numerical simulation of the temperature of fire mode. Liquefied petroleum gas tank farm model was established by using PyroSim. This paper analyzed the fire temperature field distribution under different wind speed. Five levels of wind scale were selected (respectively 0,2,4,5 and 8) corresponding to five levels of wind speed (0 m/s,3 m/s,6 m/s,10 m/s and 20 m/s). Moreover, the tank heat exposure temperature was simulated under two cases which the spray water were 2 L/min(for heat insulation) and 9 L/min (for fire protection) respectively. Based on this simulation, fire separation was corrected.
