| Based on the National Natural Science Foundation project(number: 51434002), by use of CFD numerical computation method and model experiment in lab, the water resistance characteristic of the seafloor tracked miner in deep sea mining system has been researched. The main research contents and results of the following:(1) Simplified three dimensional modeling of deep-sea miner of "Nine Five" plan in China has been created. By selecting the appropriate calculation model, the three-dimensional viscous flow field for deep-sea miner moved has been numerically simulated. The analysis explains: the water resistance stems from mining-collector fit and float, and it is 7473 N while velocity is 1.2m/s.(2) In order to reduce the miner water resistance, several shape optimization model has been created. Also, the numerical calculation has been carried out under the same boundary conditions.Through the comparative analysis of the calculation results, it has been explained that the floatless model decreases water resistance greatly, and the cross area of miner has an influence on water resistance directly.(3) The drag experiment has been carried out according to the proportion of 1:20 with the original model.According to the experiment and numerical analysis results, the deep sea miner numerical calculation has been verified by use of the Reynolds similarity criterion and the Euler similarity criterion. The analysis shows that two groups of data are agreement, and the error is controlled within 10%.The researches of the paper provide a new method to calculate the water resistance of the vehicle’s travel for the deep-sea by using the the method of numerical calculation and model test. The design of the optimization model has a certain guiding significancefor the future design of the deep-sea miner. |
