The complex shape parts multi-pass deep drawing process transition shape is the key to ensuring product quality and it determines whether drawing forming failure or not. At present, the irregular shape parts drawing forming theoretical research and practical experience cannot satisfy the demand for practical production. Therefore, it needs further research work on this field. This paper puts forward a method of determining the transition shape of complex shape in multi-pass deep drawing. The new method adapt to different shape drawing parts to some extent .The paper systematically introduces multi-pass deep drawing forming theory. It contains drawing calculation methods and material forming law of cylinder-shaped parts, elliptic cylinder parts, box-shaped parts, conical parts and parabolic shape parts etc, which lays a solid theoretical foundation for putting forward the new method of determining the transition shape of complex shape in multi-pass deep drawing. Then, the paper expounds its soul "subsection processing, overall combination" in detail and extracts for the method of determining multi-pass deep drawing transition shape. Moreover, it analyzes the method’s universality and limitations in order to explain the method better.With the "subsection processing, overall combination " method, the paper adopts a deep irregular part as an application example and gets the two pass deep drawing transition shape through precise drawing calculation and estimation by practice experience, which can fully illustrates method. In addition, adopting the new method of two pass deep drawing numerical simulation, it gets a more reasonable numerical simulation results among three schemes,which can verify the rationality of the method and transition shape in a certain extent. Multiple deep drawing experiments of a deep irregular part further show the rationality of the method and transition shape.
