Application Research Of 20-High Mill Thickness Control System

With the rapid progress of Steel&Iron industry in China, the developing way is under a radical change. So it is no doubt to apply the high accuracy equipments and advanced control systems. The 20-Hi Mill has the unique advantage of high rolling reduction, high control accuracy and high productivity in rolling production. The 20-Hi Mill is introduced and applied vastly in cold rolling mill especially in stainless steel cold rolling mill in recent years in China.To all 20-Hi Mills, However, almost all the thickness control system and key measurement equipments including strip gauge measurments are totally imported abroad. It is a important task for all the engineers who are evolved into the rolling mill control system research and actual application research to know how to familiar with control system and measuring instruments for better production, to know how to make the product research development after digest and absorb abroad advanced control and measurement technique for the efficient control of local rolling technique. Because of above mentioned consideration and theory, in this paper the thickness control and measuring system of 20-Hi Mill is the research direction, Sundwig 20-Hi Mill which is imported from Germany by JISCO is the object of study. This paper states the thickness control system configuration and process control scheme systemically and comprehensively on the base of related application research. This paper introduces the system hardware,software, control function and control strategy in the details chapter by chapter. The main aim is to innovate and develop the control system of rolling mill under the existing control system research and to lay the foundation for the system running smoothly.JISCO had already finished the hot commissioning work. The control system program had already accomplished. The project will enter into the control system commission and running stage very soon. As all the control equipment, control software and control strategy were adopted in other same plants by the abroad company, it is convinced that the research of existing system will perfect the control functionality and to form the stable foundation for JISCO cold rolling mill plant smoothly running and will bring the far-reaching influence to JISCO cold rolling development.
