With the rapid development of the national economy, power quality of grid of the growing demand is rolling up. the present period, because of more and more complex power equipment, the national electrical energy has enormous waste. Based on this, reactive power compensation of power system for power system and automation as a very important issue there is a very important significance.In this paper, in cognizance of current problem of reactive compensation controller,we study a formula of ARM intelligent reactive compensation controller low-voltage based on detailed analysis of the basic principles and control methods.In hardware, the reactive power compensation controller us CIRRUSLOGIC CS5463 chip for companing in all parameters measured three-phase power grid and LPC2210 as control unit. It can complete data processing, automatic adjustment of reactive power, voltage detection and control, data storage and display. In addition, we have designed some external auxiliary hardware, including sample conditioning circuit, man-machine interface(keypad, LCD, etc.), serial communications, realtime clock, optocal isolation, and fault alarm, etc; in software, development platform based on ARM ADS 1.2, using modular design methods, the different functions of the chip driver function on different files, is conducive to modify and debug software.Finally, in the paper, we made a summary of the controller of the experimental conditions and the design, and made a analysis on the future technology to upgrade. The controller set reactive power compensation, power voltage detection and control, data transmission and storage functions in one, development of low cost, short cycle, stable and reliable performance to meet the current low-voltage reactive power compensation needs.
