| Substation simulation training system is very important for simulation training of substation operating personnel. The paper introduces the development of substation equipment inspection and field operating functions of primary and secondary devices in the training system. According to collection and analysis of the demands of many domestic electric power enterprises, it makes a summary of the problems and gives out the issues. The required functions are completed by programming.In the original program, there is only one abnormal state can be set in one inspection point, which can't meet the training demand. Through the summary of all abnormal status may occur in all inspection point, the database was modified and expanded, and the software was rewriting for the new function.The new function of a serious accident associated with abnormal state is realized by adding new variables and modifying the program. The training contents were extended and the level of training was increased greatly.The field operation of primary and secondary equipments is a new function. The equipment of local operation is summarized according to the operation ticket and accident treatment demands. According to the characteristics of equipment, the classification is made and the action logic of different equipment is analyzed. The field operation function is realized, which can imitate the real field operation. Cooperating with the main program, the function can write the operation ticket.Through the improvement of processes and adoption of the Authorware libraries files technology, the program was optimized, which made the program becoming more easy and simple to maintaining and the data storage spaces is reduced too.The paper gave detailed test of the new functions of the software, and the test results are correct. The software has been applied in the many other substation simulation training programs, practicing of the students at school, which had got the good results.
