Automobile has become an absolutely necessary and convenient transport tool. It is an important and modernization grade symbol of a country or a zone. However, automobile also bring forth many problems such as the energy emergency and environment pollution whereas it gets many convenient for people travel and goods transport. Furthermore, above problems become more and more severe with the increasing quantity of automobile.Recent years, the technology about reducing fuel consumption and engine exhaust is made rapid progress, including the technology of inside/outside machine and tri-catalysis. This topic put the technology of magnetism-electric plasma forward to treat the intake air and exhaust gas, and bring forth a new idea and method to economize fuel and reduce emission.In this topic, the principle of generating non-thermal plasma by discharging of high pulse voltage is studied. At the same time, the procedure of chemo-reaction is analyzed between the efficiency elements such as O3, O and OH in the plasma and the major contamination such as NOX, CO and HC, etc. in the exhaust gas. Next, it studies the principle of non-thermal plasma polarize explode state technology. Meanwhile, it discusses the method of economizing fuel and reducing emission by using the magnetism-electric plasma technology.We design the prototype model of the polarize explode state intake air device and two-grade gradient electric-field plasma purifier and optimize them through analyzing the existing plasma purifiers and also hanging together with the practice experience, including the battery model, battery voltage and frequency, discharge parameters, also the length and diameter of the discharge tube.For the sake of validating the actual effect of plasma device in the car, we repeat doing many a time simulated engine test in Chongqing University. From the tests, we find it is good effect to economize fuel and reduce emission. At the same time, we also grope the variety rules between the plasma device reaction efficiency and engine work status. Finally, we conduct the whole vehicle emission test in the Environmental Chamber of Changan Auto LTD to farther approve the theory of the plasma devices.
