Objective:A multi-centre randomized controlled study method was used to probe the therapeutic effect and safety of ginger-salt-partitioned moxibustion on urination disorders poststroke.Method:The 120 patients who met the inclusion criteria of poststroke urge incontinence were randomly divided into treatment and control groups according to the ratio of 1:1. The treatment group uses the ginger-salt-partitioned moxibustion at Shenque(CV 8),including the treatments of western medicine and acupuncture,5 times per week for 4 weeks. Control group treated with all treatments of western medicine and acupuncture for four weeks. The primary outcome measure is the average amount of urine at a time. The secondary outcome measures are the urination times of each day, the mean times to be asked to awaken for the nursing personnel at night, the Barthel Index(BI) and the Incontinence Quality of Life Questionnaire(I-QOL). The assessment will be made at baseline(before treatment), four weeksResult: â‘ The average amount of urine of the treatment group increased 63.67ml, the control groups increased 16.26ml; The frequency of daytime urination of the treatment group reduced 1.81 times, while control group reduced 0.27 times.; Times to be asked to awaken for the nursing personnel at night of the treatment group reduced 1.10 times, the control group reduced 0.31 times. I-QOL of the patients in the treatment groups increased 15.39 points while the control group increased 7.26 points. The above differences between the four groups showed statistically significant. â‘¡Barthel Index of the treatment group increased 13.25 points while control group increased 9.74 points. The number of incontinence during daytime of the treatment group reduced from 2.49 to 0.43,while the control group reduced 1.78 to 1.17, But the above reduced from differences between two groups is not statistically significant.Conclutions:The ginger-salt-partitioned moxibustion can improve urinary incontinence for poststroke urge incontinence patients. The effect of this method is obvious, also safe and convenience to be popularized. Further analysis of its theoretical basis is through warming the Yang-qi,reinforcing Shen and strenghening Pi, promoting bladder gasification and through urination. The mechanism may be related to adjust the imbalance disorders of cortex, thereby inhibiting detrusor hyperreflexia contraction, and increase the bladder capacity, improve the quality of urination.
