Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine treatment joint enhanced external counter pulsation to treat unstable angina(syndromes of phlegm and blood stasis) and the effects to the levels of TXA2 and PGI2.Verify the treatment effect of the enhanced external counter pulsation, to investigate the mechanism of enhanced external counter pulsation.Material and method:Choose 44 hospitalized patients that hospitalized in the department of Cardiology in Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine who consistent with unstable angina(syndromes of phlegm and blood stasis). These patients were randomly divided into treatment and control groups, each group of 22 people, patients in the treatment group on the basis treatment of conventional western medicine and the decoction of wen ban increase EECP therapy, once a day, every 60 minutes,35 days for a course, patients in the control group on the treatment of conventional western medicine and decoction of wen ban. Both groups were blood before the first EECP and after the course of EECP, the blood was used to determine the level of TXA2 and PGI2. Angina episodes, traditional Chinese medicine symptoms change were recorded before and after the treatment.Results:1.The improvement of angina pectoris symptoms: both groups improved significantly in pain episodes and duration, the total effective rate in the treatment group is 95.5%,the total effective rate in control group is 86.3%, treatment group and control group have no statistical significance(p>0.05); the significant efficiency of both groups is 54.5% and 22.7%,treatment group is better than control group.2.the improvement of TCM symptoms: in the treatment group and control group the total effective rate is 95.5% and 90.9%,have no statistical significance(p>0.05); significant efficiency of both groups is 50.0% and 18.2%, treatment group is better than control group, symptom scores before and after treatment is 21.59±1.27 and 8.00±3.51,have statistical significance(p<0.01); in the control group symptom scores before and after treatment is 21.09±1.14 and 9.64±3.74, have statistically significant(p<0.01); there have statistical significance(p<0.05) between both groups after treated. 3.the levels of TXA2 and PGI2 compare between before and after treatment have statistically significant(p<0.01); After treated the level of TXA2 in treatment group is lower than in the control group(p<0.05), level of PGI2 in treatment group is higher than the control group(p<0.05)Conclusion:the clinical efficacy of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine treatment joint enhanced external counter pulsation to treat unstable angina(syndromes of phlegm and blood stasis)is clear, it can improve symptoms of angina and traditional Chinese medicine changed through increase the level of PGI2 and lower the level of TXA2. This treatment is safe and effective, this shows that EECP can be a good integrated process in the treatment of unstable angina.
