Methods Apoptosis and expression of PCNA were determined in paraffin-embed tissues from 62 cases of colorectal carcinoma.. l5cases of colon adenoma and 10 cases of normal colon mucosa with inmiunohistochemistry S-P method and terminal deoxy- nucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP biotion end labelling (TUNEL) technique to investigate the relationship to clinic patholo- gical factors. Results The number of positive cells of PCNA in normal colon mucosa.. colon adenoma and colorectal carcinoma were 17.82? 5.13.. 29.78?.86and57.20?0.23 respectively. The difference among these groups was significant(P<0.01) .The positive rates of apoptosis in these groups were 2.76?.87.~ 4.27?.41 and 6.4?.83 respectively and difference was also significant (P<0 .01) . In colon adenoma the degree of atypical hyperplasia was negatively correlated with Al (Apoptotic Index) and positively with expression of PCNA. With Dukes stage advancing, expression of PCNA enhanced meanwhile Al declined. Besides apoptosis and II PCNA expression were correlated with differentiation and lymph node metastasis, apoptosis had a correlation with types of histology of the coloreactal carcinoma. Combined analysis of Al and PCNA expression indicated that high P1 (Proliferative Index) with low Al had a more possibility to result in lymph node metastasis than other abnormal patterns in colorectal carcinoma(P | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Colorectal carcinoma, PCNA, Apoptosis, Biological behavior | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
