Objective Arteriosclerosis obliterans(ASO) is one of common chronic main and medium-sized artery ischemia disease, especially main medium-sized artery of lower limb's. It is the extremities' local manifestation of total Atherosclerosis(AS).It belongs to the "tuo ju" or "mai bi" range of TCM.There is always a puzzle about the etiology of ASO.The state of this illness is complicated and there are so many complications.lt seriously hazardous to human's health because of it's high extremity-amputation and fatality rate. Methods After our observsing of the plasma fibrinogen (Fg)contents of 156 ASO patients and the healths,we find that the Fg contents of the patients obviously higher than that of the normals, there are obviously significantdifference (p<0.01) ;the Fg contents of each phase of ASO patients aresignificant difference ( p<0.05 or p<0.01) ;but there are no significant difference between each grade of the gangrene patients and the extrymity-amputated patients ( p>0.05 ) After the therapy by thrombolysis and lower fibrinogen ,we know that there are significantdifference than they are before( p<0.01). Conclusion As an important blood coagulation factor,Fg is an important and independent risk factor in arteriosclerosis. Fg takes part in the inflammation reaction ofAS,Fg may cause the plasma viscosity to step-up and thrombus to formate,Fg lesions the endothelial cells and facilitate VSMC proliferation.
