| Objective To investigate the value of 18F-FDG-PET to diagnose ovarian cancer of the nude mice model and for clinical application respectivelyMethods: 1. a total of 15 nude mice were divided into three groups: group A (n=6), group B (n=6) and group C (n=3). 12 nude mice models were produced by injection ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma cell HO8910 (6 mice were injected subcutaneous in the right forearm and 6 mice were injected intraperitoneal), group C was designed as control group. The nude mice were produced chronic granulomatous inflammation models by foreign body ,FDG-PET were performed when the diameters of transplanting mass were about 0.5cm- 1.6cm .FDG uptake was semiquantitated by determination the activity per pixel on the region of interest (ROI) curve and the T/NT were calculated after scan. 2.15 patients with clinically suspected ovarian neoplasm or recurrence were received FDG-PET 1 hour after intravenous injected18F-FDG,the imaging were interpred visually six patients of malignant tumor were received FDG-PET after operation and chemotherapy Results: FDG-PET detected all the masses . in the same group ,the T/NT between organs showed statistical significance (p<0.05).but the T/NT among kidney spleen liver between kidney and heart ,between liver and heart all show statistical significance(p<0.01).The T/N between experimental groups did not show statistical significance (p>0.05),but the T/NT of experimental groups was statistically higher than control group(p<0.05). all carcinomas exerted intense FDG uptake and showed a high value contrast to normal tissue (p<0.01).all granulomatous lesions also exerted intense FDG uptake and show a high value contrast to normal tissue (p<0.01) The careinomars' FDG uptake of experimental groups was significantly higher as compared to control group (p<0.01).2. in 15 cases FDG-PET ,8 cases were positive ,7 case werenegtive ,The results of FDG-PET was accord perfectly with operation. 6 repeated cases were negtive, no clinical symptom and other evidence of re currence one patient was confirmed by second laparotomy : later. The sensitivity , specificity and accuracy of visual interpretation of PET were 94.12%, 100% , 93.33%% respectively; and those of CT were 62.5%, 76.42% and 75.33% respectivelyConclusion:FDG-PET is useful for definiting character of ovarian tumor ,especially has a higher accuracy in detecting early recurrence leision of post-operation patients. |
