Clinical And Experimental Study Of Yi Zhi Mixture In The Treatment Of Alzheimer's Disease

Objective To study the effect and mechanism of Yi Zhi Mixture (YZM) in Alzheimer's disease(AD) .Methods Injecting D - Galactose method was used to extablish the models of AD in Wister rats and 10 - month old rats as normal control group. The model groups were treated respectively with NS,Piracetam and YZM in different dosage. The capability of sutdy and memory was examined in water maze after 6 weeks. Subsequently the level of AcrE NO NOS SOD and ATP ase was measured, and brain Lipofuscin, apoptosis was examined. A controlled study was performed on 60 AD patients. There were 32 casese treated with YZM and 28 cases used Piracetam as control group.Results Animal experiments showed sigificant difference in learning and memory function. YZM improved the function of learning and menory and content of NO NOS SOD Na+ - K+ -ATP ase . It reduced the level of AchE and bottled apoptosis. In the clinical study the total of effective rate was 81.2% in the experiment group and 46.4% in the control group (P<0. 01) . The scores of the MMSENHDS,ADU FAQ and clinical symptom were greatly improved comparing with the control group(PConclusion YZM is an effective medicine for AD. It can nourish the kidney and heart, benefit the brain and improve intelligence.
