Sixteen compounds were separated from the rhizome of Atractylodes chinensis (DC.) Koidz. (stir-fry with bran) by using open-column, preparative TLC and HPLC methods et al.On the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic analysis, 12 compounds were identified as: atractylenolid III (1) ,2 - phenylethyl P-rutinoside (2), wogonin (3), wogonin 7-O-glucuronide methyl ester (4), bis (5 - formylfurfuryl )ether (5), vanilic acid (6), syringic acid (7), 3,4- dihydroxy benzaldehyde (protocatechualdehyde)(8), protocatechuic acid (9), limonin (10), 5 - hydromethyl furaldehyde (11), 2- furancarboxylic acid (2 - furoic acid) (12).Some differences of components and relative content of essential oil obtained from laboratory and from industrial workshop have been observed. At the same time, analgesic action of several fractions isolated from processing Atractylodes chinensis (DC.) Koidz. has been investigated.
