High Risk Behaviors Related HIV/AIDS And Demographic Variables Of Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSM) In China

Background and Object The speed of HIV epidemic in China is rapidly rising. Men who have sex with men (MSM) is one of the core groups of HIV/AIDS. The study on this aspect in China is absent .It is vital to study MSM' s high risk behaviors(HRBs) for drafting China' s health policy targeting at HIV/AIDS.Method Snowball spot check study was adopted as a primary method .Anonymous questionaires were collected from 1109 MSM .Univariate analyses were applied to probe the relation of demographic variables and HRBs.Result The more numbers of accumulative partners, oral intercourse partners and strangers partners in the previous year were found in the MSM whose age were 35-44(P<0. 05) . They also had the higher percentage of having initiative kiss anus in the previous year and passive kiss anus in the previous year(P<0. 05). The more numbers of heterosexual partners, oral intercourse partners in the previous year and fixed partners were found in the MSM whose age were ^55(P<0.05). They also had the higher percentage of unprotected passive oral intercourse in the previous year, unprotected passive anal intercourse in the previous year and having sex withover three men at the same time in the previous year (P<0.05),but they had the lower percentage of condom use (P<0.05). The MSM who got poor education had the higher percentage of having sex with the public' MSM in the previous year and having sex with over three men at the same time in the previous year (P<0.05). The MSM who got higher education had the higher percentages of condom use and condom use in the previous year (P<0. 05) . The more numbers of accumulative partners and oral intercourse partners were found in MSM who were non-physical labourers and lived in cities(P<0.05). They also had the higher percentage of having passive kiss anus in the previous year(P<0. 05) . Marxian MSM had the higher percentage of having sex with other places' MSM in the previous year (P<0.05). The MSM who live in Huabei region have more numbers of oral intercourse partners (P<0. 05) . They also had the higher percentage of condom use and condom use in the previous year(P<0. 05).The MSM who live in big cities have more numbers of accumulative partners, oral intercourse partners , anal intercourse partners .partners in the previous year, strangers partners in the previous year,oral intercourse partners in the previous year (P<0.05).They had the higher percentage of having passive kiss anus in the previous year,having initiative sexual abuse in the previous year and condom use(P<0.05). The more numbers of fixded partners and feminine partners in the previous year were found in the MSM who married or once marr i ed (P<0. 05) . Theyalso differed from those never married in the percentage of having sex with over three men at the same time in the previous year(P<0. 05). The MSM who got poor education and income, who were less than 25 years old and never married, who were labourers in the country had more people to engage in commercial sex(P<0.05).Conclusin The MSM in China are so active as to their sexual activities. Multiple partners, unprotected anal intercourse,oral intercourse and hardly or never condom use are HRBs of MSM related HIV/AIDS.The HRBs in different demographic variables have different characteristics. So we can draw pertinence measure to reduce MSM' s HRBs in order to promote China' s AIDS/STI prevention and control.
