The Experimental Study On The Influence Of Acupuncture To NO And NOS Of VD Rats' Brains And Hemorheology

Vascular dementia (VD) is a common kind of Dementia caused by cardiovascular diseases. In recent decades, western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine used in VD continually turned up. But the experimental studies on traditional Chinese medicine treatment are share. Especially? the papers on NO, NOS and hemorheology are not many. So we adopted this method to carry on the experimental study.Purpose To make the rats model of VD and to study the effect of acupuncture on Hemorheology and activity of NOS and content of NO in brains of VD rats. Method To select 36 healthy Wistar rats which were divided into 4 groups. They included negative injury group, model group, acupuncture group and medicine group. In the experiment, we adopted 2-VO to duplicate model VD and carried on acupuncture treatment on the baihui-dazhui acupuncture point of rat heads. By the end of the study, we examine the memory ability of rats in according to the shuttle test. Finally, the biochemistry changes were studied. Results Statistics suggest that the acupuncture treatment can not only enhance model animal's learning and memory ability and diminish the activities of NOS and the content of NO in the cerebral issues, but also drop the Blood Viscosity, Plasma viscosity, Mean Corpuscular Volume and Fibrinogen. Conclusions Acupuncture in baihui-dazhui could improve the learning and memory ability of model animal and decrease the activities of NOS and the content of NO. And it can also adjust Hemorheology benignly.
