| Objective: To develop the theoretic system of five visceral essence, qi, yin and yang, and explore the theory of the lung yang. Then deepen the application of syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma. The pathologic rat models with the syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma were first set up.Methods: This research based on the viewpoints of three theory, namely, coldness of body and drinking cold tends to impair lung, overstrain leading to consumption of qi, and qi was divided into yin and yang, and combined asthmatic nosogenesis of modern medicine. Pathologic rat models with the syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma were set up with the methods of feeding with ice water and food with cold property and swimming in the ice water, and ovalbumin was used to induce rat asthma in the cold environment. The models were treated with Yang-Warming and Fluid-Dispersing Formula, Xiao Qing Long decoction and aminophylline, then observe the related indexes such as body temperature, avoirdupois, the drink capacity, the percentum of EOS and the levels of IL-4 and IFN-r in the BALF. So to explore the functional mechanism of lung yang in syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma and deepen the cognition of the theory of the lung yang.Results: General syndromes of the rats in the model group were in accordance with clinical symptoms of patients of the syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma. The changes of microcosmic indexes coincided with those of asthma related to the syndrome. For examples, the expressive indexes of avoirdupois, body temperature, the drink capacityand IFN-r in BALF were alleviated, the levels of EOS and IL-4 in the BALF were higher than the control group and inflammatory damage appeared in lung tissues. The three remedy in the treated group ameliorated above indexes, thereinto the total curative efficiency of Yang-Warming and Fluid-Dispersing Formula is the best.Conclusion: The pathologic rats models with the syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma was comparatively successful and reliable. EOS, IFN -r and IL-4 participated the forming mechanisms of the syndrome of accumulation of cold fluid in asthma respectively. "Yang-Warming and Fluid-Dispersing Formula" had markedly curative effect on the syndrome of asthma. The mechanisms of the effect are probably owing to that it can maintain the balance of Thl and Th2 in lung, reduce the endosmosis of EOS, inhibit hyperemia, edema and inflammatory effusing in lung tissues to protect lung tissues, and regulate diastolization and contraction of airway to improve ventilation of the lung. That is, the lung yang has the functions of warming and dispersing cold fluid and promoting water metabolism. |
