| Objective: To study the effect of Jinpuye on the healing of freeze-dried bone allograft and explore its mechanism. Methods: The 15mm segmental bone/periosteum defects were created on right radius in 24 New Zealand rabbits, filled with freeze-dried bone allograft, and were treated with two groups randomly, 12 in each group. Ten days after operation, experimental group were injected with Jinpuye locally, control group were injected with saline. Observations were with X-ray, radionuclide bone imaging, histological examination as well as measurement of calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in serum at different periods postoperatively. Results: The new bone formation, bone metabolic activity, amount of phosphorus and ALP in serum were higher in experimental group than in that of control, but the level of serum calcium was on the contrary. The freeze dried-bone allograft healed in the 90th day in experimental group, but did not healed in the same time in control group. Conclusions: As a supporting biomaterial,freeze-dried bone allograft has low immunogenicity and excellent biocompatibility. As a fracture healing medicine, Jinpuye promotes the new bone formation, accelerates the healing of freeze-dried bone allograft effectively. |
