Objective: To explore the effects of vlsartan on the plasma levels of nitric oxide and endothelin-1 in the patients with acute coronary syndromes. Methods: 36 patients with acute coronary syndrome was divided into valsartan theraputic group(n=18) or conventional theraputic group(n=18).The plasma levels of nitric oxide and endothelin-1 were assayed before and 4 weeks after therapy in two groups.Results:①Before the therapy ,the levels of plasma nitric oxide and endothelin-1 between the two groups had no significant difference. [(65.51±8.93)pg/ml vs (64.07±11.73) pg/ml, P>0.05]; [(100.99±16.99) μmol/l vs (98.46±20.91) μmol/l, P>0.05]。②After 4 weeks of therapy ,the levels of plasma nitric oxide in two groups were obviously increased .But the difference of two groups was not significant. [(122.68±39.04)μmol/l vs (128.81±50.50) μmol/l, P=0.054]。③After 4 weeks of therapy , the levels of plasma endothelin-1 between two groups were both obviously decreased. The difference was significant. [(60.34±11.96)pg/ml vs (52.60±14.22) pg/ml, P<0.05]。④Those patients could also divided into patients with simply acute coronary syndrome or patients compared essential hypertension . Before the therapy ,the levels of plasma nitric oxide and endothelin-1 between the two groups had no significant difference. [(64.51±11.08)pg/ml vs (65.43±8.70) pg/ml, P>0.05];[(100.22±17.62) μmol/l vs (97.53±21.87) μmol/l, P>0.05].After 4 weeks of therapy ,the levels of plasma nitric oxide in two groups were obviously increased .The difference between two groups was significant. [(136.00±48.87)μmol/l vs (104.95±28.33) μmol/l, P<0.05]。The levels of plasma endothelin-1 between two groups was obviously decreased. This difference was no significant. [(58.82±12.11)pg/ml vs (55.65±16.97) pg/ml, P>0.05]。Conclusion: The results suggested that valsartan could improved the vascular endothelial function in acute coronary syndrome.
