| Objective: To evaluate the curative effect of Fumai decoction (FMD) in treatment of optic neuropathy via clinical observation and experimental study and to detect its mechanism. Methods: The visual acuity, visual field and Pattern-visual electric potential of 18 cases in FMD group are observed and compared with that in control group. Meanwhile, the concentration of serous SOD and NO in experimental rats is also examined. Results: FMD can promote Visual acuity, Experimental study shows that FMD can increase serous levels of SOD and lower NO of experimental rats. Conclusion: FMD is effective in treatment of patients with optic neuropathy signified by promotion of visual acuity, visual field and pattern-evoked electric potential. |
