Object: To contrast the expression of HER-2,EGFR, Ln-R and uPA in defferent nodal status in breast cancer and its significance.Methods:The expression of HER-2,EGFR, Ln-R , uPA and ER,PR were detected in 86 cases of breast cancer which included 43 cases of axillary node-positive(ANP) breast cancer and 43 cases of axillary node-negative(ANN) breast cancer with means of S-P immunohistochemical method and analyzed.Results: In 86 cases of breast cancer,the positive rate of HER-2,EGFR, Ln-R and uPA expression was 24.4%, 37.2%, 52.3%, 55.8% respectively.In ANP breast cancer, we could see that HER-2 positively correlated with tumor size and EGFR but inversely correlated with ER and PR status and the expression of Ln-R(P<0.05 or P<0.01).HER-2 was not correlated with other factors(P>.05). There was a negative relation betweeen EGFR and ER,PR status(P<0.05). A positive relation existed between uPA's expression and tumour grade. That is, the higher expression of uPA ,the higher tumour grade was found(P<0.05). In ANN breast cancer ,the expression of HER-2 didn't correlated with other factors(P>0.05). The expression of EGFR always went with the higher nuclear grade(P<0.05).We found no relation between EGFR and other factors(P>.05). uPA's high expression positively correlated with tumor size and tumour grade(P<0.05).That is, the higher expression of uPA ,the higher tumour grade and bigger tumor size were found. We found the expression of Ln-R was higher in tomours which were of lower tumour grade .smaller tumour size and positive expression of ER and PR,but there was't any relation between them(P>0.05).Conclution: The difference of HER-2, EGFR and uPA's expression in ANP group and ANN group testified that two type of breast cancer had a signifient difference in biological character.In ANP breast cancer,the expression of HER-2,EGFR,uPA significently correlated with different clinical phathological factors,so we can see these three biologicalmakers were useful for chosing the project of therapy of tumor and for estimating the prognosis.HER-2 wasn't a prognostic factor in ANN breast cancer.In ANN breast cancer ,high expression of EGFR and uPA was always suggested the awful prgnosis.
