| Purpose:To observe the theory basis and the programme in clinical prevention and cure of acne, adapted the clinical efficacy of treating adult female acne with acupuncture and moxibustion and the effect on those treated patient' s sex hormone by analyzing the improvement of cutaneous and the serum testosterone and estradiol levels before and after treatment. The effective mechanism of this therapy was studied. Methods:40 cases of acne patients were randomly divided into 2 groups (n=20), treatment group (group A) and medicine control group (group B). Group A was treated by Acummoxi and group B was given by the medicine licorzincum capsules. 30 days later, the cutaneous conditions and level of testosterone and estradiol were estimated. Results:(1) There were significant differences between testosterone and estradiol in adult female acne patients before and after the therapy. (2) There were significant changes between two groups before and after the therapy. (3) GroupA has the advantage over group B either in the lowering the level of testosterone or raising the level of estradiol. (4) Both groups show the improvement from the therapy.Conclusion:(1) Acupuncture and Moxibustion have better clinical efficacy on the adult female acne patients than the medicine control patients. (2) Acupuncture and Moxibustion on acne patients have improve the conditions of patients which may be an important mechanism to treat acne. |
