Objectively evaluation the effects and gingival inflammation related to three kinds of retraction agents(25%AlCl3,15.5% Fe2(SO4)3,0.1% HCl-epinephrine),to choose the best retraction agent for the clinic. Methods: forty maxillary first premolar of twenty students divided into four groups randomly, four different kinds of retraction agents(25%AlCl3,15.5%,Fe2(SO4)3, 0.1%HCl-epinephrine,0.9%NS)were used randomly in different tooth, before and after removal of retraction cords immersed in test solutions containing 0.9% saline, 25% AICI3, 15.5% Fe2(SO4)3 or 0.1%HCl-epinephrine, compared degree of ginginval inflammation according to GCF and GCF-AST measured in before the retraction and first day, third day, fifth day, seventh day, ninth day after removal of retraction cords were recorded, using lectron analytical balance and automatic biochemistry analyzer.one hundred and fifty patients with one incisor to fixed restoration divided into three groups randomly, before and after preparation of the tooth, retraction cords in solutions containing 25% AICI3, 15.5% Fe2(SO4)3 or 0.1%HCl-epinephrine were used, after impression-making procedure, according to the clearness of finish-line explosure of the tooth preparation, compare the effects of the three retraction agents. Results: 1. comparison in group: no significant difference by GCF variety(p>0.05)in first day and third day ,seventh day and ninth day after retraction in every retraction agent. 2. comparison in different groups, to 15.5% Fe2(SO4)3,the significant difference in first day and third day after retraction compared with the others in GCF variety(p<0.05). 3. only 15.5% Fe2(SO4)3 compared with 0.9% NS in GCF-AST, the significant difference in first day and third day after retraction(p<0.05). 4. using Kruskal-Wallis Test, The retraction agent of the smallest GCF variety is 0.1% epinephrine, the biggest is Fe2(SO4)3, the medium is 25% AlCl3(p<0.05). 5. The effect ofretraction agent is no difference of statistics(p<0.05). comparison the effect between the buccal and the palatal in every retraction agent, there were significant difference(p<0.05),but between the distal and the medial, no significant difference(p>0.05) in every retraction agents. Conclusion: 1. the smallest retraction agent of ginginval inflammation is 0.1% epinephrine, the biggest is 15.5% Fe2(SO4)3,the medium is 25% A1C13 (p<0.05).
