ObjectiveTo determine whether a lower than conventional dose of a long-acting Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone analogue(GnRH-a) may be more appropriate for use in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). MethodProspective studied the outcome of 56 cycles that performed IVF-ET, 28 cycles(A group) accepted a lower dose enantone(2mg), 28 cycles (B group) accepted conventional dose enantone(3.75mg). ResultsThe serum Luteinizing hormore (LH) level before useGonadotrophin (Gn) of A group was higher than that of B group(P=0.03), but there was no significant differences in LH level on the day of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) administration between two groups (P>0.05). There were no spontaneous premature LH surge in two groups. There were no significant differences between two groups either in the serum oestradiol(E2) level before use Gn and on the day of HCG administration(P>0.05), number of Gn and stimulation days(P>0.05), nor in the number of oocytes retrieved, fertilization rate, embryo cleaved rate, pregnancy rate/cycle, pregnancy rate/transfer, miscarrige rate and implantation rate. ConclusionThe use of a lower dose enantone appears to be equally effective with the conventional dose on FVF-ET.
