Objective To study the relationship between the urinary albumin and coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods According angiography, fifty-nine CHD patients were enrolled as CHD group and thirty-two non-CHD patients as control group. The urine levels of albumin were measured in all patients and the relationship between the urinary albumin and CHD were analyzed. Results The CHD group had a significantly higher level of urinary albumin than controls. Moreover, the urine levels of albumin were higher in three diseased vessels compared with one diseased vessel (P<0.001) and two diseased vessels (P<0.05) .Conclusion Urinary albumin may be directly related to theinitiation and development of coronary lesions. The higher levels of urinary albumin, the severer the coronary arteries lesions would be. Microalbuminuria may be an independent risk factor of CHD.
