| Objective: To summarize our experience of endovascular repair (EVR) for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), and indications, procedures and prevention of complication were also discussed. Methods: From May, 1999 to August, 2004, fifteen patients with infrarenal AAA have been performed EVR. Results: Angiography showed that, except three cases, abdominal aortic aneurysm disappeared, and there was no endoleak during operation. Twelve patients recovery completely, one symptomatic relief, one dangerously ill turning to local hospital, one succumb to MODS. Follow-up for 7 to 60 months, nine survival, two died, and survivals living well. Conclusion: EVR of abdominal aortic aneurysm was mini-traumatic, especially for patients with high risk to take open operation. Curative effect of EVR is satisfactory in the near future and midterm. Long term follow-up is needed to evaluate the feasibity of this procedure. |
