Supplemented Zhen Wu Tang Treat Diabetic Nephropathy Lesser Yin Pattern Clinical Study

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a kind of diabetic microangiopathy as well as a major death-causing factor in diabetics. As a diabetic patient enters the overt diabetic nephropathy (ODN) stage when his rental function undergoes progressive deterioration, the disease will develop into end-stage rental failure with a period of seven years on average. Since there is no effective method to curb the development at the moment, it is crucial to DN treatment to prevent and cure ODN. As no effective DN therapeutic means is available in modern medical science, it is absolutely necessary to promote the research into DN protection and treatment by taking advantage of traditional Chinese medicine.The present project selected the ODN stage, a crucial stage during the DN process, in that at this stage, the pathologic change is irreversible and without timely or proper treatment, the disease will develop into uremia quickly, rendering the treatment extremely difficult. Based on the preliminary research by the supervisor and by observing the therapeutic effect in 60 ODN cases and analyzing the results, the present study further confirmed the therapeutic effect of Supplemented Zhen wu tangDecoction on the lesser yin pattern of DN.Objective: To probe into the curative effect of Supplemented Zhen wu tangDecoction on DN and into its advantage over western medicines.Methodology: Prospective randomized controlled experiments.
