| Objective To examines the expression of plasma soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) in patient with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy. We purpose is to investigate the roles of sICAM-1 in the development of hypertension diseases found during pregnant women, and to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of hypertensive disorder in pregnancy. Methods Maternal plasma levels of sICAM-1 are to be measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 29 patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy (7 with getational hypertension, and 22 with pre-eclampsia among them 3 mild and 19 severe), 15 normal pregnant women (normal pregnant group) and 14 non-pregnant healthy women (normal control group). Materanl plasma will be collected and tested through ELISA in the 15 normal pregnant women during the gestagenal age from 16~+3~20~+5, 25~+2~27~+6, 33~+1~41~+4 respectively. Then, the plasma levels of sICAM-1 of the different groups are to be compared and analyzed. Results It is found after assay that the plasma level of sICAM-1 of patients with pre-eclampsia1129.82±399.16ng/ml, compared to the sICAM-1 level in the third trimester of normal pregnancy (661.51±301.79ng/ml,) and in control group( 549.23±139.98ng/ml).The significant difference can be notedo Statistic analysis (T test) of the results indicats that: the sICAM-1 level amongwomen with pre-eclampsia is statistically higher than those in the normal pregnant group and control group (PO.001). The sICAM-1 level in women with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy is increased gradually with the progressive of the disease. In the pre-eclampsia group, the sICAM-1 level is 1129.82±399.16ng/ml compared to gestational hypertension group( 794.35±255.57ng/ml), therefore, the sICAM-1 level is statistically higher in pre-eclampsia group than that in the gestational hypertension group (P<0.05). Little difference is found about the sICAM-1 levels between the gestagenic hypertension group and the third trimester of normal pregnant group. Similarly, the sICAM-1 level only varies slightly among the three different period of normal pregnancy(P>0.05).Conclusions 1 ^ The expression of sICAM-1 in women with preeclampsia is significantly higher than those in the normal pregnant group and control group. The findings suggest that sICAM-1 might play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of this disease. 2s The sICAM-1 level in women with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy increases gradually with the aggravation of hypertensive disorder. The level of sICAM-1 and the severity of the disease are positively correlated.3 > The sIC AM-1 level in normal pregnant is not increased with gestational progress... |
