| Objective: To explore the relationsphip between bone mineral content(BMC), bone mineral density (BMD) and body height, body weight , lung function of preliminary Diagnositic asthmatic children, also initial evaluate the effect of inhaled corticosteroids on bone mineral content(BMC) and bone mineral density(BMD). Methods:1. 222 preliminary Diagnositic asthmatic children and 32 normal control children of Shandong Provincial Hospital, including pediatric hospital and out patients, was involved. Norland XR-36 Bone Densitometry Equipment was used to measure the BMC and BMD of L2-4 by technologist. We also rechecked the bone mass of 20 patients who receieved regular fluticasone propionate management one years later.2. 52 random preliminary Diagnositic asthmatic children' PEF and FEV1 was measured by Germany Jaeger lung function equipment, and children were divided into three group :mild group(PEF or FEV1 > 80% of prediction value),moderate group(PEF or FEV1 holds 60%80% of prediction value),severe group(PEF or FEV1 < 60% of prediction value).Result :1. The correlation between BMC, BMD and body height, body weight of preliminary Diagnositic asthmatic children and 32 normal control children is significant at the 0.01 level (2-tailed),and body height has the better correlation than body weight.2. The bone mass Z-SCORE of different lung function groups has not statistically significant(The LSD-t p value between mild group and moderate group, mild groupand severe group, moderate group and severe group was 0.134,0.505,0.503respectively,all the walue of p>0.05).3. The changes of bone mass and standardized bone mass , before using luticasonepropionate and one years later ,has not statistically significant (p>0.05) .Conclusion : There are better correlation between bone mass and body height > bodyheight. In order to clinical comparison, bone mass may be standardized. There are nostatistically significant of the bone mass among different lung function groups, different degree of asthma has no significiant effect on bone metabolism; The effect oflong-term ICS therapy on bone mass is not significant. |
