To examine the relationship between the Fhit expression and the Survivin expression in cervical squamous carcinoma. Methods:Immunohistochemical staining of Fhit and Survivin were performed by the standard streptavidin-peroxidate (SP)technique for the paraffin-embeded sections of 82 cervical squamous carcinomas and 40 CINs.The relationship between expression of Fhit with the clinicopathologic parameters, prognosis and the expression of Survivin was analyzed,respectively.Results:1. The Fhit protein expression was mainly found in cytoplasm. The positiverate in carcinoma ,CIN and chronic cervix were 32 %( 26/82), 80 %( 32/40) and 85 %(17/20)respectively; the positive rate of Fhit was lower than those in CIN and chronic cervix (P<0.01).2. The positive rate of Survivin protein were 69.51 %(57/82 ),30 %( 12/40) and 15 %( 3/20 )in turn. The difference of the expression of Survivin protein between thecervical squamous carcinoma and the chronic cervix or CIN was significant (P < 0.01).3. Loss cf function of both tumor genes showed an positive correlations(P<0.05).Concousions :De-activation of Fhit and up-regulation survivin expression might play synergetic roles in tumor genesis and the denecopment of cervical squamons carcinoma. And it may be an early event in cervical squamous, also might be helpful to making a diagnosis of or screening for cervical carcinoma. Survivin might involveabad prognosis. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | crvixeoplasm, cervical aquamous cell, oncogeneprotein Fhit, oncogcne protein Survivin | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
