Analysis Of War Wounded And Maimed Limbs Cause And Studies On Medical Service Technique To Reduce The Rate Of Disability

Previous cases of war trauma cure indicated that the incidence of injured limbs (including combined wound) was more than 60%, and the medical treatment was very difficult. The injured limbs was more than 50% ,but its mortality rate was relatively low, about 10%, while its disability is high during the follow-up medical treatment. Modern wars often caused massive casualties in a shorter period, as a result of the powerful destructive of high technical weapons, the wounded situation was more seriously and complex, the multi-locus injury and combined wound increased remarkably, and the incidence of injured limbs was the highest in modern war. Information of the Gulf War, the Bosnia and Herzegovina War and the Kosovo War indicated that the percentage of gunshot wounds in modern warfare decreased remarkably compared to traditional warfare casualties' , and since the use of high-speed and efficient explosive weapons largely and frequently (guns pomegranate high explosive bullet, cluster bombs, mines, missiles, etc.), as well as damage of those weapons to the environment, resulted in a large number of blasted wound, explosive wound, crush injury, and consequently lead to increase of incidence of serious injury of limb bone joints.First aid to injured limbs bone wound and treatment quality in war field directly affects the lives of the wounded and functions of their limbs. During first aid and handling with limbs wound in the battlefield, the medical service organization command, the rational use of medical service resources and medical support, the decrease of limbs disability percentage in battlefield was urgent.This topic focused on investigating of high incidence, low mortality, high rates of disability characteristics of limbs injury, analysis of the incidence of limbs wound in war, disability and the disability causes, making some strategies of disability ratio reduction in medical support, according to the studies on causes of maimed limbs in war, this research was guided by the newly military strategic principles and based on medical service and field surgical theory, the war trauma of limbs in past dozen wars were selected as objects, literature research, expert advice, statistical description, logic summarized methods were applied.These findings was of great significance to improvement of medical service in our combat injured limbs, to disability limbs reduction of the war wounds and to restoring combat effectiveness.
