The study emphasis is put on the polysaccharides from the vines of common species Xu-Shu 18 which extracted from pilot-plant equipment. The research contents include: separation, purification of polysaccharides, effect to remove free radical, restrain lipid peroxidation, function of anti- atherosclerosis and anti-fatigue.The polysaccharides solution from pilot-plant equipment after concentration, ethanol precipitation, deprotein, activated carbon decolourization(temperature: 60℃, time:20min, consumption of activated carbon: 0.5%), dialysis, we call it PSPV (Polysaccharides from Sweet Potato Vines). PSPV I was separated by DEAE-celluose with 0.2mol/l NaCl as eluent, it is a single component of PSPV tested by HPLC, and its molecular weight is 6.278 ×104.We take oxidation-reduction method to verify PSPV I 's capability of erasingO2? and ·OH out of body, the highest removing rate of PSPV I to O2? is 67.18% and 63.82% to ·OH, and its IC50 is 4.9 μg/ml,4.4μg/ml. 0.2% PSPV I 'function is the same as 0.01% BHT when resist the oil to oxidize.Feed the model hyperglycemia rats with PSPV of different concentration, PSPV can reduce the content of TC, TG , LDL-C in the serum, raise HDL-C content, reduces the blood-fat, prevent the scleratheroma, treat the fatty liver. The Atherogenic index of 600mg/kg/d, 400mg/kg/d, 200mg/kg/d PSPV group is 1/3.3, 1/3.7, 1/1.5 to normal group which feed with 0.9% physiological salt solution. We desing a swim experiment to test the rats' capability of antifatigue by feeding with PSPV, the swim time of LPSPV, MPSPV and HPSPV group increases by 1.2%, 4.8%, 8.4% compared with the NG group, and BUN content reduces by 1.2%, 4.8%, 8.4% after sports, LDH vigor rise notably.
