| ObjectTo investigate the suffering condition of internal medicine and Chinese medicine outpatients with anxiety disorder of general hospitals in Shenyang, the physician ' s diagnostic status and analyze the associated affecting factors.Methods1. SubjectThose who went to grade I, II, III general hospitals and whose age is under 18 were selected to be our subjects, in the case that severity of the disease allows the patients to be investigated.2. Materials(1) Sampling registering tables(2) Screening table(3) Diagnostic tool3. ProcedureOutpatients of 23 general hospitals who were 15 years older were interviewed. GHQ positive screening cases together with 10% of GHQ negative screening cases underwent the SCID examination. Epidata 3. 1 was adopted to establish the dataset and SPSS 13.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results9. 14% of the outpatients in Shenyang city suffer from anxiety disorder. Different morbidities were found among various hospitals with different grades. The morbidity of anxiety disorder in Grade I hospital is 11. 31% , 6. 25% in Grade II hospital, and 8. 37% in Grade III hospital. Physicians'identifying rate in Grade I hospital is 3. 00% , 8. 51% in Grade II hospital, and 1. 79% in Grade III hospital. Physicians provide inadequate treatment for anxiety disorder, few of whom treat the patients with low dose of tranquilizing drugs.DiscussionThe outpatients of general hospitals with anxiety disorder in Shenyang have been poorly identified and received less treatment, which leaves heavy burden to the economic development of the society. The reasons for such issue encompasses the improper environment of agents in general hospitals, management system , lack of continuing education in the field of psychiatry, and non - professional physicians'paucity of mental diseases related knowledge and incorrect attitude and recognitions toward mental disorder. Among most of the outpatients, wide anxiety disorder is usually misdiagnosed as cardiovascular disease and other illness. Moreover, the patients'misunderstanding of the mental health and sense of shame of the,disease tend to mislead the physicians. ,,ConclusionAnxiety disorder is the most common mental disorder among the internal medicine outpatients in general hospitals. However, anxiety disorders often receive inadequate medication. Physicians' mental disorder knowledge enhancement and importance should be attached to the cooperation between physicians and professional psychiatrists. |
