Objective : To investigate the serum resistin levels in patients with hyperuricaemia as well as with or without dislipidemia, hypertension and to analyse the relationship between fasting serum resistin and uric acid. Methods : ELISA was used to examine the fasting serum resistin in 138 hyperuricaemia patients who , acoording to with or without dislipidemia, hypertension , were divided into hyperuricaemia group, hyperuricaemia with dislipidemia group, and hyperuricaemia with dislipidemia and hypertension group and 42 normal control cases. At the same time, their height, weight, waist circumstance, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride> fasting insulin , uric acid, creatinine, BUN were measured, BMI and Homa-IR were calculated.Rsults: Compared with the control group, the fasting serum resistin level was significantly higher in hyperuricaemia group (2.67±1.55vs 3.89±1.70ng/ml, P <0.000);compared with the hyperuricaemia group, dislipidemia group and hypertension , dislipidemia group had higher serum resistin , but the difference was not significant.Bivariate correlate analysis demonstrated that the fasting serum resistin was significantly positively correlated with Homa-IR , BMI, waist circumstance, Fat%, TG, UA and systolic blood pressure (r=0.407, 0.348, 0.315, 0.262, 0.250, 0.293, 0.237;P<0.001), positively correlated with diastolic blood pressure, TC and Cr (r= 0.210, 0.215, 0.199;P<0.05);Fasting serum resistin was not correlated with HDL, LDL, FPG , BUN and age(r=-0.121, 0.069,0.123,0.044, -0.129;P>0.05).Multiple stepwise regression analysis revealed that fasting serum resistin is mainly correlated with Homa-IR and Cr.Conclusion : People with hyperuricaemia had higher serum resistin than normal control cases. Hyperuricaemia with dislipidemia, hyperuricaemia with dislipidemia and hypertension group had higher serum resistin level than hyperuricaemia group, but thedifference was not significant. Fasting serum resistin level was significantly positively correlated with Homa-IR in hyperuricaemia. Serum uric acid can influence serum resistin but it is not the main factor in the hyperuricaemia.
