Objective: The aim of this study was to observe the clinical effect of the Vertebral Artery Type of Cervical Spondylosis Treated with Needle Warming through Moxibustion on Du20, and the effect for the Transcranial Doppler(TCD). This study provided scientific evidence for this method, consequently was spread.Method: 56 cases were all from the acupuncture out-patient clinic of the NO1 Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. All case were distributed by random to treat group (30 cases) and control group (26 cases). In treat group, Needle Warming through Moxibustion on Du20 was the primary method. In control group, local electric needle was the primary method. The main indexes were the cardinal symptoms and signs, TCD. We observed its clinical effect and approached its mechanism of action through the change of main indexes. Results:1. There was significant difference between the two groups by Ridit analysis (Z=0.022, P =0.043 < 0.05);there was no significant difference between the twogroups by chi square test (corrected X~2=0.03, P =0.87 > 0.05);there was significant difference between the two groups for the cure and significant effect rate (X~2=1, , P=0.02 < 0.05) , that of treat group is higher than that of control group.2. The symptom quantized integral of the two groups after treated all increased significantly (P < 0.01) , but there was no significant difference between the two groups.3. The symptom incidence rate The symptom quantized integral of the two groups after treated all decreased significantly (P < 0.01);among them, the descend extent of tired incidence rate of the treat group(80%) is significant higher than that of control group (P<0.05) .4. Except texture of tongue of control group, other body signs of the two groups after treated decreased significantly compared with before treated (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01) .5. Vs of basal artery and two vertebrartery of two groups after treated were faster thanbefore treated (P < 0.01);among them, Vs of basal artery a of treat group after treated was significantly faster than that of control group (P < 0.05) .6. Vd of basal artery and two vertebrarteries of two groups after treated were faster than before treated (P < 0.01);among them, Vd of two vertebrarteries of treat group after treated was significantly faster than that of control group (P < 0.05) .7. PI of basal artery and two vertebrarteries of two groups after treated were decreased significantly than before treated (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01);among them, PI of basal artery and left vertebrartery of treat group after treated was significantly faster than that of control group (P < 0.05) .Conclusion:1. Needle Warming through Moxibustion on Du20 can significantly increase the cure and significant effect rate of this desease.2. Needle Warming through Moxibustion on Du20 can significantly improve deficiency of Qi and stagnation of blood for patients.3. Needle Warming through Moxibustion on Du20 can increase blood flow rate of basal artery and vertebrarteries, increase vascular flexibility, decrease vascular resistance.4. This method maybe improve the symptoms of patients through mechanisms mentioned below:4.1 the regulated effect of spinal nerve and sympathetic nerve4.2 the regulated effect of central4.3 the regulated and improved effect of Needle Warming through Moxibustion...
