Relationship Between Expression Of Trefoil Factor 2,Trefoil Factor 3 And Gastric Epithelial Cell Proliferation And Apoptosis In Gastric Cancer

Objective:Trefoil factor 2(TFF2)and trefoil factor 3(TFF3)are members of the trefoil factor family,which is a kind of polypeptide recently found.Trefoil factor family plays key roles in mucosal protection and in mucosal repair through promotion of restitution after injury. Recently,it was founded that trefoil factor family is associated with gastric cancer.They can affect tumorgenesis.The aim of our study was to examine the expression of TFF2,TFF3,proliferation cell nuclear antigen ( PCNA ) and apoptosis determined by terminal deoxy- nucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL)in normal gastric mucosa,intestinal metaplasia in gastric mucosa,displasic gastric mucosa and gastric cancer,and to investigate the relationship between TFF2,TFF3 and cell proliferation,cell apoptosis in gastric cancer,and to investigate their possible roles in gastric cancer.Methods:Gastric biopsy specimens were obtained from 74 patients(age from 31 to 78 years,mean 56.5 years)who underwent gastroscopy from February to August in 2005 in our hospital,including normal gastric mucosa(20 specimens), intestinal mataplasia in gastric mucosa(30 specimens), displasic gastric mucosa(24 specimens).Specimens of cancer...
