Objective: In recently years, the onset age of stroke is becoming younger. Young stroke influences the living of young people so generally and seriously. Young stroke is gradually noted by people as stroke caught by people whose age is 18~45 years old. Although the morbidity rate of young adults stroke is lower than that of old people, the harmfulness to patients and the burden to the family and society are more serious. So the study how to prevent and cure young stroke has extremely urgent and important significance. This study contrasted with health youths including clinical feature, hemodynamics, biochemistry index and neuroimaging feature in order to investigate pathogenesy and identify the risk factors and predictors in young stroke. This study can offer clinical theory foundation to give patients diagnosis early and make treatment in time so as to decrease the disability rate and mortality as well as elevate the quality of life.Methods: Seventy-two young patients with stroke were studied in department of neurology of our hospital from October 2004 to December 2005, including 52 cerebral infarction patients and 20 cerebral hemorrhage patients.
