Association Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor δ Gene Polymorphism With Metabolic Indices Of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Background Obesity,decompensation of glucose and dyslipidaemia affect human health. The incidence of obesity and its related disorders increases year by year. Although insulin resistance andβ-cell failure are currently regarded as the main pathogenesis of diabetes. The real picture of diabetes development is still elusive. Peroxisome proliferator activated receptor is a number of the nucleus receptors family.There are three subtypes, PPARα,PPARδand PPARγ.It has been proved that PPARαand PPARγis closely related to metabolism of glucose and lipid.We know little about PPARδ.It was found widely expressed in variety of human and might be an important in adipocyte delpletion, energy utilization and inflammation.Polymorphism was found in the promoter region of PPARδ,and variation in the promoter affects the gene expression. Such as changing its transcription activity and thereafter function. PPARδpromoter gene variation was reported to related to Korean and Shanghai Han in Chinese by Shin and Jia respectively.This variation was associated with many metabolic,but no consistant results were found. Therefore,we studied PPARδ–87T/C on metablic indices of type 2 diabetes.Objective To study the relations of peroxisome proliferator activated receptorδ-87T/C polymorphism with some metablic indixes of type 2 diabetes.Method 194 cases of type 2 diabetic patients were selected according to the WHO/ 1999 criteria,.
