Clinical Study On The Therapy Of TongXinLuo Capsule In Patients With Acute Cerebral Infarction

Objective: To probe into the value of TongXinLuo capsule(TXL) in clinical practice by observing the influence of TXL on the neurological deficit and the regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF) of patients with acute cerebral infarction ,and to discuss the mechanisms of TXL in the therapy of cerebral infarction at the same time.Methods: One hundred in-patients with the first acute cerebral infarction were enrolled from the neurological department,the Sixth People's Hospital of Shanghai,from March 2005 to March 2006,who met the diagnostic criteria of cerebral infarction definded by the Fourth National Academic Conference on Cerebral Vascular Disease in 1995 and onset within seven days.They were randomly assigned to either control (n=50) or treatment group(n=50) according to the list of random number.The control group was treated with the conventional treatment,i.e.20ml danshen added into 250ml normal saline for intravenous dripping daily for 2 weeks.The treatment group was treated with the conventional treatment plus three TXL taken orally three times a day for 2 weeks.There was no statistic difference in terms of clinical information between the two groups,and so they were comparable. Chinese Stroke Scale(CSS) scores and Barthel Index(BI) of all patients were measured before and after treatment.Visualization and semiquantitative analysis of rCBF by single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)brain perfusion imaging were performed before and after treatment at the same time.Results: In the treatment group,forty three patients were valid and seven were unvalid in lessening the neurological deficit,the effective rate was 86%.While in the control group, thirty four were valid and sixteen were unvalid ,the effective rate was 68%.There was statistic difference between the two groups by x2 test(P<0.05).In the treatment group,before treatment CSS scores was 15.32±8.93 and BI was 58.60±22.41,after treatment CSS scores was 8.56±8.04 and BI was 77.20±20.43.In the control group, before treatment CSS scores was 15.56±9.60 and BI was 58.10±23.34,after treatment CSS scores was 12.62±10.43 and BI was 66.20±23.59.Comparing in the two groups respectively,there were significantly statistic difference in terms of CSS scores and BI before and after treatment(P<0.001).There was statistic difference in terms of CSS...
